Dancing with the Wildflowers
Every painting is a gift of creativity and always leaves me feeling surprised by it!
A bouquet of wayward flowers dancing wildly in the rain ~ eucalypt greens, sandstone yellows, dusty pinks and watery opaque blues and whites.
I spent the wet season months walking through the bush and connecting with the wildflowers. Experiencing the rain, seeing new blooms and feeling the energy after the rain while taking in the smell of the rain on the earth. This is the inspiration behind The Bush Garden Collection of work ~ recognising the profound connection that we all have with the earth, and how much we benefit from taking the time to connect with it.
This painting is like a bouquet of happiness. It’s about the joyful energy that comes from finding the unexpected treasure of the new flowers and witnessing the change that comes in the landscape after the rain. It’s a celebration of the wildflowers of Australia and the surprise that they bring when you find them thriving in the bush. It makes you want to dance in the rain with them!
The layers of paint in this work evoke feelings of being emersed in the bush landscape. Then the soft palette of the bush invites you to find the hidden Australian wildflower blooms; as they spout from the rainstorm covered eucalypt trees, shrubs and vines.
